Do I need any special applications to run Golf GPS systems on my Garmin watch?
Not necessarily as many of the Garmin watches come with the Garmin Golf Application (opens in new tab) already installed. Without it though, you can still use the majority of Garmin GPS watches to track your steps, heart rate, or even the number of calories you’ve burnt during your round.
Do I need a subscription to use Garmin golf?
Yes, there are membership fees for Garmin Golf, if you want to use the full service. That allows you to review performance stats and participate in weekly leaderboards. You can still access a free version though if you own one of the Approach Watches. The free version will deliver accurate distances and yardages while you’re on the course.
